SITUATION
As Kroger continues to expand there is a constant need for new ways to retain customers and attract new ones. Krogers' 2019 rebrand was successful in growing their grocery stores, but how can Kroger use its new tools to grow their gas stations as well? By using a brand Kroger has already established, we could see the company growing into customers second home.
TASK
- Research gamification aspects
- Understand Krogers brand identity
- Present a cost-effective solution
ACTION
- Create survey to collect user sentiment on Krojis
- Conduct observational study at gas station
- Create & test low fidelity, high resolution prototypes for gas stations
- Finalize prototype
RESULT
We created an experience where users are able to customize their own Kroji and earn kKroji points after each visit at a Kroger gas station. The final prototype was met with positive reactions and a wide age range was interested in creating their own Kroji character. This new experience will allow Kroger to keep people shopping not only at their grocery store but fueling at their gas stations as well.
