SITUATION
The Denton County Transportation Authority's A-Train is a form of transportation that many commuter students from The University of North Texas and Texas Women's University use daily. The line has 6 total stations and can be navigated easily with some experience. However, it can be daunting to many new riders, especially those just coming out of high school.
TASK
- Collect data on the DCTA A-Train
- Research mascot successes
- Analyze other train stations
ACTION
- Conduct observational study
- Interview A-Train riders
- Create user journey map
- Design & test mascot & wayfinding signage
RESULT
We created a brand design make the train more appealing and to improve wayfinding for incoming students. The design includes Alby the Train Squirrel, a mascot meant to create a recognizable face for the A-Train. With the implementation of new signage and a mascot the DCTA will be able to see an increase in ridership of students.
